About
I define myself in two parts: through my faith as a Muslim and my passion as an Astronomer. I’m a graduate student at the University of Toronto in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics who could never be happy if I wasn’t doing research on the universe as a whole. I have deep convictions as a Muslim and I live off the synergy between these two factors in my life.
I was born and bred in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and it’s the same place that one day I hope to raise a family, after I spend the numerous years I know I’ll have to in Universities and Institutes the world over as a post-doctoral fellow. Toronto is my home and I intend to bring the experiences I obtain through the nomadic academic lifestyle back here. I don’t intend to just make it as an astronomer, or just be a good astronomer. I intend to be amongst the best at telling the story of the Universe around us, and making our world a better place in the process, God willing.
